birth support
homebirth care
When you book me for your homebirth, I am on-call 24/7 from 36-weeks gestation to attend your labour and birth at home. Homebirth care is only available in conjunction with full-continuum care.
In addition to the fees for each visit, homebirth care incurs a full-continuum care booking fee and a birth fee; see my fee schedule for more details. The birth fee includes payment of a second midwife to attend your birth, birth pool and liner hire and use of all other necessary equipment for your birth, including for emergency management. This fee still applies in full in the case of a homebirth transfer.
The total out-of-pocket cost for a homebirth can range from $3,000.00 - $6,000.00. I encourage you to reach out to me for a personalised fee estimate.
Unfortunately, Medicare rebates for homebirth are not available at this time (feel free to write to the Health Minister about that).
planned hospital birth support
If you need or choose to have your baby in hospital, I can still provide your antenatal and postnatal care in your home and attend your birth as a support person. This service is only available in conjunction with full-continuum care. During your labour and birth in the hospital, I will not provide your clinical midwifery care; this will be provided by hospital staff. I will be present to provide support, guidance and advocacy as needed.
In addition to the fees for each visit, in-hospital birth support incurs a full-continuum care booking fee and a planned hospital birth fee; see my fee schedule for more details. No Medicare rebate is available.
